WisDems Welcome VP Harris, EPA Administrator Regan to Celebrate Clean Water Efforts

Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler released the following statement ahead of the Vice President’s visit

Today, Vice President Kamala Harris and Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan will visit Wisconsin to highlight how President Joe Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will deliver clean drinking water to communities across the state. The infrastructure law will dedicate $841 million over five years to Wisconsin’s clean water efforts – funding projects from removing the state’s lead pipes to water remediation.

Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler released the following statement ahead of the Vice President’s visit:

“Every time Wisconsinites turn on the faucets in their homes, they’re acting on the core belief that clean drinking water should be a right, not a privilege. Despite Wisconsin’s Republican legislators blocking millions of dollars for clean water funding from our state budget, Democrats are delivering on President  Biden and Governor Tony Evers’ commitment to ensuring that, no matter where you live, Wisconsinites will have the clean water that everyone deserves. We’re thrilled that Vice President Harris and EPA Administrator Regan are in Wisconsin today to lift up the investments that Democrats are making to ensure that Wisconsin is a state with clean water for all.

“President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is the single-largest clean water investment in American history. We’re excited to welcome Vice President Harris to Milwaukee and applaud her continued commitment to Wisconsinites’ health, safety, and ability to prosper for years to come. As we celebrate the removal of lead pipes in our homes, schools, and community centers, and the investment in addressing PFAs in rural areas, Wisconsinites will not forget that it was Democrats that delivered on clean water while Republicans willfully voted against this critical funding.”
