Mayor Cavalier Johnson
Press Release

Welcome Goodwill!

Statement of Common Council President Cavalier Johnson May 6, 2021

By - May 6th, 2021 10:24 am

I’d like to welcome Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin to Milwaukee, the 2nd District, and the city’s northwest side as they transition their corporate headquarters to the James O. Wright Center for Work & Training.

It’s refreshing to know that more and more businesses are choosing Milwaukee, and while downtown is a great place to start or expand, our neighborhoods and business corridors citywide also have much to offer. We welcome the opportunity to help businesses grow in all parts of our city.

I’d also be remiss if I didn’t commend Goodwill’s decision to address the need for services to be embedded directly in the areas that they serve. The decision should help Goodwill achieve its goal of meeting the people where they are to provide the highest quality services possible.

It is clear that we have momentum building in Milwaukee, and I look forward to championing our great city for all who want to live and work here.
