WEDC announces six global trade ventures through mid-2018
Wisconsin businesses can build international relationships on trips to Japan, South Korea, China, Israel, Mexico, Canada, Germany
Madison, WI. June 6, 2017 – The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) announced today it will lead six global trade ventures over the next year aimed at helping Wisconsin businesses establish or expand their global reach.
The upcoming schedule is:
- Japan and South Korea, Sept. 8-16, 2017
Cities: Tokyo, Japan and Seoul, South Korea - Israel, Oct. 26-Nov. 3, 2017
City: Tel Aviv - Mexico, Jan. 27-Feb. 3, 2018
Cities: Mexico City and Guadalajara - Canada, March 18-23, 2018
Cities: Toronto and Winnipeg - China, April 13-25, 2018
Cities: Shanghai, Ningbo, Harbin and Guangzhou - Germany, June 23-30, 2018
Cities: Stuttgart, Dusseldorf and Frankfurt
WEDC trade ventures are designed to connect Wisconsin companies with potential buyers, distributors and other partners in key international markets. During the trade trips, participants are scheduled for one-on-one meetings with potential international partners who are hand-picked for each company.
While the program cost will vary by country, in each case it will include market research and one-on-one appointments, in-country transportation including travel to business meetings, interpreter fees if applicable, hotel accommodations for the duration of the program and some group meals. WEDC will arrange appointments for participants, which will allow them to focus on business rather than logistics and scheduling.
“Participating in global trade ventures provide great professional value while offering a greater cultural understanding of the markets you’re seeking to do business with,” said Katy Sinnott, WEDC vice president of international business development. “We invite companies to join us over the next year in visiting one of these leading markets to grow their business.”
Registration is now underway for the trade venture in September. For more information on that trip, visit inwisconsin.com/japansouthkorea17.
