WBB Travels to Creighton Wednesday at 6 p.m. CT

Golden Eagles second road trip of conference season

MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University women’s basketball team travels to Creighton on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 6 p.m. CT.

The BIG EAST Digital Network on FloCollege features the broadcast with Rob Simms (play-by-play) and Josh Peterson (analyst) on the call.

SKYLAR GAME-HIGH 21 IN COMEBACK WIN OVER BUTLER
• Skylar Forbes has led the team in scoring nine times this season and had a game-high 21 points in the 57-54 win over Butler on Saturday.
• The sophomore forward 21 points all came in the last three quarters.
• Forbes went 2-of-2 from the line with one second left to seal the win, and is shooting 84.3 percent from the line this season (43-of-51).

FORBES EARNS THIRD BIG EAST WEEKLY HONOR ROLL SELECTION
• Skylar Forbes earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, her third weekly honor of the season.
• Forbes had two 20-point games last week including a game-high 21 points vs. No. 7 UConn on New Year’s Day.
• The Markham, Ontario native had a game-high 21 points in the comeback win at Butler on Saturday, Jan. 4, including two free throws with one second left to seal the win. All 21 points came in the last three quarters.
• Forbes shot 48 percent from the floor (13-of-27) and 85 percent from the line (12-of-14) for the week.

VOLKER CAREER SCORING STRETCH
• Lee Volker has scored in double-figures in 10-of-14 games this season after having three double-figures scoring games coming into the season.
• The senior guard had a career-high 21 points against Milwauke on Dec. 15.
• Volker has had career-highs in points (21), rebounds (10), assists (5), steals (7) field goals made (8) and 3-pointers made (3) this season.

DEFENSE LEADS THE WAY FOR MU
• Marquette is first in the BIG EAST and 11th in the nation in field goal percentage defense (34.6 percent) and have held opponents to under 45 percent from the floor in all 14 games this season.
• MU is 34th nationally holding opponents to 56.1 points per game.
• The Golden Eagles have held opponents to under 53 points five times and have held teams to 10-point-or-less in 16 quarters this season.
