WBB Falls at Bowling Green Wednesday Night, 64-62
Marquette hosts Stonehill Saturday at noon CT
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Marquette University women’s basketball team dropped a road contest at Bowling Green, 64-62, on Wednesday night at the Stroh Center.
The Golden Eagles (7-3, 0-0 BIG EAST) were led by Jaidynn Mason and Lee Volker who had a combined 34 points of MU’s 62 points.Volker had her first career double-double 17 points, career-high 10 rebounds and three assists. Mason had a Marquette career-high 17 points, four rebounds and two steals.
Down by seven at the break, Marquette got the game within a single possession eight times in the second half but couldn’t get over the hump.
Bowling Green (6-4, 0-0 MAC) was led by Amy Velasco, who had 14 points and five assists.
NOTABLES:
- Loss snaps Marquette’s seven-game winning streak.
- Lee Volker had her fourth game this season with 17-or-more points and hit a career-high three 3-pointers.
- Olivia Porter had her third game in a row with 5-or-more assists.
