MADISON, WI. FEB. 7, 2019 – The Village of Mount Horeb is receiving a $250,000 state grant to help finance the construction of a multi-specialty dental and health complex—a  $2.6 million project located in downtown Mount Horeb.

The Community Development Investment Grant from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) will support the development of a 10,800-square-foot multi-tenant complex that will provide residents of Mount Horeb and surrounding communities with all their dental needs in one convenient location.

“WEDC is committed to supporting communities throughout the state as they invest in quality infrastructure and services to enhance their business districts,” said Mark R. Hogan, secretary and CEO of WEDC, the state’s lead economic development organization. “This project will not only bring new jobs to the Village of Mount Horeb, but it will serve to improve the health and quality of life of its citizens.”

“WEDC has been a great economic development partner for the Village of Mount Horeb,” said Randy Littel, Village of Mount Horeb Board President. “This dental facility will be a great asset to the citizens of Mount Horeb, and we are thankful to WEDC for their investment to help make this possible.”

Owners of the multi-specialty complex believe the complex will provide a convenient location for residents of Mount Horeb and surrounding communities. With the new location being close to an interstate exit, they hope it will help attract patients from other communities to seek specialty appointments that otherwise would not be available to them, and in turn bring more business to the village.

“We are immensely grateful for this opportunity that WEDC and the Village of Mount Horeb have afforded us,” said Amanda Hatch DDS, of Mt. Horeb Dental LLC. “It is thrilling to be able to build a facility that not only allows us to bring dental specialists to our community, but to design a home for our dearly loved dental family.”

Tenants will include Mt. Horeb Dental LLC, Mt. Horeb Dental Specialty and a new medical spa. Mt. Horeb Dental LLC will provide general dental services in a new state-of-the-art facility that will include 16 treatment rooms, three full-time general dentists and nine hygienists. Mt. Horeb Dental Specialty will have four designated treatment rooms and will provide access to dental specialists, including an endodontist and orthodontist. The new medical spa will provide wellness coaching, cosmetic injectables and skin care services.

The project is expected to create 15 to 20 new health care-related jobs as well as retaining 24 current jobs at Mt. Horeb Dental LLC.

WEDC’s Community Development Investment Grant Program supports community development and redevelopment efforts, primarily in downtown areas. The matching grants are awarded based on the ability of applicants to demonstrate the economic impact of the proposed project, including public and private partnership development, financial need, and use of sustainable downtown development practices.

Since the program’s inception in 2013, WEDC has awarded more than $20 million in Community Development Investment Grants to 79 communities for projects expected to generate more than $280 million in capital investments statewide.
