UW System President Thompson statement on budget lapse elimination
MADISON, Wis.—University of Wisconsin System President Tommy Thompson issued this statement today:
“When Governor Evers announced the lapses, I understood his desire to be fiscally responsible during the pandemic, and we worked closely with him to create a workable plan for UW System’s share.
“Now that Wisconsin is coming out of those difficult times, I appreciate his willingness to eliminate the lapse for the current fiscal year.
“This restored funding will be a significant help to our campuses as we fully open this fall.”
