( MILWAUKEE, WI ) – On Thursday evening September 29th, China Lights will offer a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience an exclusive preview presentation of this October’s exhibition at Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and interact with our Chinese guests that have created this magnificent exhibit and get an in depth explanation of the process that is entailed in creating these art pieces from some of the artisans themselves. In addition to the unveiling of the exhibits and exclusive stage presentations, guests will be invited to participate in the rehearsal of the nightly Illumination walk at the center court area. Asian themed food and beverages will be supplied by the Zilli Hospitality Group.

Attendees will also receive a gift bag that includes; an admission ticket for any future performance, the official China Lights mobile guide, and a 18” custom outdoor Chinese lantern.

Event will be between 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, close up VIP parking is included, and attire is casual.

Tickets are $100 per person and are available at the Marcus Center Box Office. Tickets can be purchased in person at 929 North Water Street, Downtown Milwaukee, by phone at 414-273-7206, or online at MarcusCenter.org.

This event is sponsored by the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, Boerner Botanical Gardens and Milwaukee County Parks.

Following the Exclusive Preview Night event, Boerner Botanical Gardens will host the internationally acclaimed “China Lights” exhibit on October 1-30. This will be the fifth stop on the USA leg of the tour and the first in the Midwest. The tour is mounted by Tianyu Arts and Culture, Inc of Zigong City, China.

The exhibit is comprised of 38 displays with over 1,000 brightly lighted components in the stunning nine acre Boerner Botanical’s Formal Gardens. All the components, ranging from a single three foot tall panda to a pagoda over two stories high, are created on site by Chinese artisans. The construction and installation process requires 5 weeks of non stop work by over 30 artisans. The components are created from welded metal frames with colorful silk fabric applied and then internally lighted with LED lighting.

In addition to the stunning lighted displays there will be multiple nightly stage performances highlighting various Chinese entertainment. The Boerner Garden House will be the site of multiple cultural displays and video presentations. Food and beverages will be available featuring both Asian and American selections. The exhibit will open from 5:30PM to 10:00PM nightly, closed Mondays. Additional information can be found at chinalights.org.
