Racine, WI  November 15, 2017 – The Racine Art Museum (RAM) Store is ready to help kick off the holiday season with fabulous, unique gifts that can only be found here. Whether one-of-a kind artworks, handmade holiday treasures, or  special gifts for hard-to-fill stockings, shoppers will discover incredible options at the Museum Store. In December, the Store will be open on Mondays, giving additional hours to shop.

MEMBERS MATTER: Museum Store Sale
To thank RAM members for their invaluable support, there will be special 20% off Member Discount Days, Saturday, November 25 through Sunday, December 3. RAM invites new members to join now online at ramart.org/join-renew-gift to enjoy eight days of Store savings along with other fabulous museum benefits.

RAM Holiday Tree
RAM is pleased to again present a Racine holiday favorite. Open November 24 – December 30, the holiday season sparkles at the museum with the 15-foot illuminated RAM Holiday Tree, adorned with over 1,500 glass ornaments.  The festive tree features ornaments from a variety of time periods and subjects—all from late gallerist and arts supporter Emile H. Mathis II’s collection.

Shop Local: Be a Champion
On November 25, Small Business Saturday kicks off the holiday season in the Museum Store. Shop local with pieces by Racine artists like Alex Mandli, Kevin Pearson, Bill Reid, and Ken Swanson, and Wisconsin artists like Mary Bero, Randy Johnston, and JoAnna Poehlmann. RAM has helped gather over 25 participants for Small Business Saturday, including shops and restaurants, to highlight all that downtown Racine has to offer. An event brochure––filled with great deals and special downtown events––is available at RAM, online at ramart.org, and in participating shops.

Museum Store Sunday
RAM is partnering with hundreds of shops across the country to celebrate the first-ever Museum Store Sunday on November 26. This new nationwide event features stores in art museums, aquariums, and history museums. Details about Museum Store specials and other crowd-pleasing treats are online at ramart.org.

RAM Online Store Launch
In time for Cyber Monday on November 27, the new RAM Online Store will launch at ramart.org/store, offering incredible shopping for unique items, all from the comfort of home.

CALL FOR ARTISTS: The Art of AdOrnaments
The RAM Museum Store invites artists of all ages to participate in the museum’s handmade holiday ornament competition: The Art of AdOrnaments. This stylish show of holiday baubles demonstrates the endless creativity of people in the Racine community and beyond. AdOrnaments entries may be no larger than 5 inches square and must be delivered to RAM by 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 3. This show of handcrafted ornaments will be on display at RAM throughout the holiday season, December 8–30.

Together, the two campuses of the Racine Art Museum, RAM in downtown Racine at 441 Main Street and the Charles A. Wustum Museum of Fine Arts at 2519 Northwestern Avenue, seek to elevate the stature of contemporary crafts to that of fine art by exhibiting significant works in craft media with painting, sculpture and photography, while providing outstanding educational art programming.

Docent led contemporary craft and architectural tours of the museums are available. Both campuses of the Racine Art Museum, are open Tuesday – Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, and are closed Mondays, Federal holidays and Easter. RAM is open Sunday Noon – 5:00 pm, while Wustum is closed Sundays. An admission fee of $5 for adults, with reduced fees for students and seniors, applies at RAM. Admission to Wustum is free. Members are always admitted without charge to either campus.
