The Marcus Center Hosts ROCKTOBERFEST

MILWAUKEE, WI (Wednesday, September 19, 2018) – New this year, Rocktoberfest, will feature local, indie-rock bands of Milwaukee on Saturday, September 22 from 12:00 pm-7:00 pm. Following your Doors Open tour of the Marcus Center, enjoy live music at the Marcus Center’s outdoor Peck Pavilion with FREE ADMISSION.

This event is sponsored by Beer Capitol Distributing.

During Doors Open Milwaukee, tour the Marcus Center for free! Established in 1969, the architecturally award- winning Marcus Center for the Performing Arts is the premier performing arts community gathering space in Southeastern Wisconsin.

Tour Uihlein Hall, Wilson Theater at Vogel Hall, Todd Wehr Theater, and public reception and meeting spaces. Learn the history of the center and its occupants, and gain insight into how the center provides a wide variety of entertainment and reception offerings in its multiple venues, including backstage tours when possible

Sazama’s River’s Edge Patio will be open for all performances with food and beverages available for purchase from Sazama’s Fine Catering.

MICHAEL CASTLE OF PRETTY BEGGAR | 12:00 pm-1:00 pm

Based out of Milwaukee, PRETTY BEGGAR is an original indie pop/rock 4-piece emphasizing storytelling and lyrical potency within catchy, upbeat grooves. Founded in January of 2016 by songwriter Michael Castle and drummer Tim Jurasewicz, the duo released 21 self-produced singles in 21 weeks, cultivating a strong and rapidly growing fan base through their continuously evolving content and charismatic live shows. The band released their debut album,  Tell ‘Em We Say Hi on November 5th, 2017.

Funky, progressive, psych rock power trio from Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood, The Old Prospectors formed late in 2015 and feature Dan Dahl (drums), Bob Daly (bass), and Frank Bufe (guitar/keys).

ROCKET PALOMA | 5:00 pm-7:00 pm

ROCKET PALOMA is a four-piece rock outfit with a heavy folk foundation and a progressive edge based out of Milwaukee. Their music blends imaginative leads atop a forceful and driving rhythm section with soaring vocals and crafted storytelling. The band is comprised of four core members: Joanna Kerner, Jonathan Blohm, Bob Schaab, and Jack Beyler.
