We are very grateful for the 500,000 KN95/N95 masks that have been given to the City of Milwaukee by Governor Evers. We thank the Governor for helping our residents provide better personal protection for themselves and their families against COVID-19 and its highly transmissible omicron variant.

The free respirator masks are shown to provide better protection from (virus) transmission than standard surgical masks and cloth masks. The adult sized masks are being handed out in packages of five for single adults, 10 for a couple or 20 for a family.

The masks are available while supplies last and can be picked up at the Southside Health Center, 1639 S. 23rd St., the Northwest Health Center, 7630 W. Mill Rd., and the Menomonee Valley site, 2401 W. St. Paul Ave. Additionally, Milwaukee Public Library branches will be distributing the masks (again, while supplies last) – please go to https://mpl.org/# for additional details.

Also, please go to milwaukee.gov/masks for additional details on the free masks and how to get them.

We urge anyone who needs the free and more protective masks to get them as soon as possible.

Let’s continue to work together to keep our city and ourselves safe from COVID!
