Suspects Criminally Charged in Connection to Double Fatal Accident

MILWAUKEE, WI – On Thursday, August 12, 2021, the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office issued criminal charges against James B. Hinton and James E. Malone in connection to a double fatal accident that occurred on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at approximately 4:40 p.m., on the 6000 block of W. Hampton Avenue. Malone and Hinton were racing at a high rate of speed, when the vehicle Malone was driving collided with a vehicle that was making a turn. The collision caused the death of the occupants of the vehicle that was struck by Malone’s vehicle.

Hinton was charged with one count of First Degree Reckless Injury and Knowingly Operate Motor Vehicle While Revoked – Cause Great Bodily Harm to Another. If convicted, he could face up to 28 years, 6 months in prison and could be fined up to $110,000.

Malone was charged with one count of Operating with Restricted Controlled Substance in Blood – Second Offense and two counts of First Degree Reckless Homicide. If convicted, he could face up to 120 years, 6 months in prison and could be fined up to $1,100.
