Milwaukee County Supervisor Michael Mayo, Sr., District 7, has issued the following statement regarding the death of Brandon Johnson:

“I would like to express my deepest sympathies to the family of Brandon Johnson. I want them to know my thoughts are with them every step of the way.

“I have been informed that the staff of the Milwaukee County Mental Health Complex (MCMHC) and the Director of Human Health Services are doing all they can to assist the family and law enforcement during this difficult time. I ask for the community’s patience and cooperation with the Sherriff, District Attorney and Milwaukee Police Department during their investigations so they can be conducted properly and with dignity.

“If anyone has concerns or quality assurance recommendations they would like to see addressed to make things better for residents and patients at the MCMHC, I would like to be made aware of them.

“I want to assure the community that I will be monitoring the investigations. To ensure transparency, I will keep the community informed of any new discoveries I learn while following this case.”
