Supervisor Gómez-Tom Joins Board, Pledges to Serve District 14 with Dedication and Commitment

MILWAUKEE – Yesterday, Supervisor Caroline Gómez-Tom began her work on the Milwaukee County Board Supervisors, representing District 14. Supervisor Gómez-Tom spent the afternoon meeting with Milwaukee County staff, Human resources, and officially opening her District office for business. Supervisor Gómez-Tom and Chairwoman Nicholson made the following statements:  

“I am honored to officially take on the role of Milwaukee County Supervisor. I am committed to working alongside my fellow Board members and community leaders to tackle the challenges facing Milwaukee County. Together, we will strive to make our community a thriving place for all its residents.” said Supervisor Gómez-Tom “I look forward to representing District 14 and serving as a bridge between the community and the county policies that impact our everyday lives.”

Her presence as another Latina member of this body not only amplifies the voices of Latinx residents but also empowers future generations to believe in their own potential,” said Chairwoman Nicholson “This election was yet another resounding message that all communities deserve a seat at the decision-making table.” 

Supervisor Gómez-Tom was elected to represent Milwaukee County’s 14th District in a special election on May 2, 2023, carrying 66% of the vote.  

Supervisor Gómez-Tom currently serves on the boards of the Milwaukee Latino Health Coalition (MLHC), Children’s Health Alliance of Wisconsin (CHAW), and Kids Forward. In 2022, she was elected president of the City of Milwaukee Board of Health.  

Supervisor Gómez-Tom’s ceremonial swearing-in will take place at the May meeting of the Board, scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. in Room 200 of the Milwaukee County Courthouse.
