St. Ann Center “Homecoming” Gala set for Oct. 5
Experience a grand celebration commemorating 25 years of care for all generations
St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care will host Homecoming: A 25th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, Oct. 5, at its Stein Campus, the intergenerational day care’s first home. The event is among the center’s largest fundraising efforts in support of its world-renowned day care program, which serves children, frail seniors and adults with disabilities, all in the same home-like setting.
New this year, Homecoming: A 25th Anniversary Celebration is also a sneaker ball. Guests are invited to accessorize their glamorous attire with snazzy sneaks to blend style and comfort.
The gala event will take place at the Stein Campus in celebration of 25 years since it opened its doors. Homecoming also celebrates 25 years of compassionate care and meaningful progress, including overnight respite, wellness services and dementia care; and a second campus on 24th Street and North Avenue featuring a special-needs dental clinic, a whimsical play garden specifically designed to teach children self-pride and key life skills, and a band shell for client performances and a summer concert series.
The event, St. Ann Center’s 20th annual gala, begins at 5pm. Throughout the building, mouthwatering heavy appetizers from award-winning Milwaukee caterer Tall Guy and a Grill, sweet treats from The Dessert Cart, and an assortment of alcoholic and alcohol free beverages from The Crafted Tavern will be available to fuel the evening’s program, emceed by Portia Young, Emmy-winning host of PBS Wisconsin’s “10thirtysix” and public relations executive for Sargento.
Steve “The Homer” True, ESPN radio host and longtime voice of Marquette basketball, will call the live auction. Among the items available are excursions to the Dominican Republic and Riviera Maya; Green Bay Packer autographed collectibles including a jersey autographed by star quarterback Jordan Love and a football signed by the 2023-2024 squad; tickets for four to the Milwaukee Ballet debut of “Casanova,” an overnight stay at Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel plus a $100 restaurant card, and more.
Afterward, guests can dance to the South Shore Band, then end their evening on a sweet note, making s’mores over fire rings on the back patio.
All proceeds from the gala support essential updates to the Stein Campus to enhance and expand the adult client and childcare areas.
