Shilling Applauds Hughes as WEDC pick

LA CROSSE, WI – Senate Democratic Leader Jennifer Shilling (D-La Crosse) released the following statement after Governor Tony Evers announced Missy Hughes as CEO for the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC):
“As someone with a connection to the Coulee Region, I have enjoyed working with Ms. Hughes through her work at Organic Valley. Ms. Hughes has extensive knowledge in business, leadership and management and her experience will be a valuable asset for the state of Wisconsin. I look forward to working with Ms. Hughes to expand economic opportunities, support Main Street community businesses, and encourage innovative entrepreneurship in Wisconsin.”
Missy Hughes worked as the Chief Mission Officer and General Counsel for Organic Valley, the nation’s largest dairy cooperative. She also served as the Vice President on the Board of Directors for the Organic Trade Association and the USDA’s Advisory Committee on Biotechnology and 21st Century Agriculture.
