Senseless homicide takes life of well-known photographer, artist

Statement of Alderman Khalif J. Rainey December 21, 2020

By - Dec 21st, 2020 01:30 pm

The friends and loved ones of Robb Smith, 32, are in mourning today after the talented photographer and artist was shot and killed outside Mr. J’s Lounge on Fond du Lac Ave. over the weekend.

Mr. Smith left Mr. J’s at about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday (December 19th) and was walking outside the club when someone reportedly came up from behind and shot him in the back of the head. This is such a senseless and horrific crime, and my prayers are forever with his family and friends.

I have learned that Mr. Smith was a positive person, a good father, and extremely talented at painting and creating vivid portraits. Earlier this year, rapper Lil’ Baby featured his artwork in one of his music videos.

The suspects in this senseless murder remain unknown and are yet to be found, and I encourage anyone with information to assist the Milwaukee Police Department investigation. Those with any information can contact Milwaukee Police at (414) 935-7360 or Crime Stoppers at (414) 224-TIPS or the P3 Tips App.
