WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senators Tammy Baldwin and Ron Johnson announced today that they have renewed their agreement establishing their bipartisan Wisconsin Federal Nominating Commission to provide recommendations for nominations during the 117th Congress for United States Attorneys and federal judicial positions. Currently, there are vacancies in the U.S. Attorney positions for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, as well as for a federal judgeship on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

“I am pleased to join Senator Johnson in using our bipartisan Wisconsin Federal Nominating Commission to help us move U.S. Attorney nominees forward and fill a judicial vacancy in the Eastern District of Wisconsin,” Senator Baldwin said. “I am confident that the commission will identify for our consideration highly qualified individuals who we can recommend to President Biden for nomination. I am committed to making sure we put in place Wisconsinites who will work hard and serve our state well in these positions.”

“The bipartisan nominating commission has delivered highly qualified nominees in the past. I respect and trust the judgment of the commission and I look forward to working to fill the vacancies for U.S. attorney and on the federal bench in the Eastern District,” said Senator Johnson.

The commission will again be comprised of six Wisconsinites who are members of the Wisconsin State Bar, three members appointed by each senator. Senator Baldwin appointed Retired Judge Charles N. Clevert, Jr., Lester Pines, and Kelly Centofanti. Senator Johnson appointed William Curran, Richard Esenberg, and Paul Swanson. The commission will be co-chaired by Judge Charles N. Clevert, Jr. and Attorney Paul Swanson.
