WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin released the following statement on the final conferenced National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023:

“The final agreement on the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023 strengthens our national security, invests in Wisconsin’s servicemembers and veterans, and supports our Wisconsin economy. I am thrilled that the bill includes my bipartisan Great Lakes Winter Commerce Act, legislation that will boost our icebreaking resources needed to support our maritime economy, mitigate the impacts of climate change, and protect our Great Lakes for generations to come. I am excited for this legislation to come to the Senate and to get the job done for our servicemembers, veterans, and Made in Wisconsin’s economy.”
