MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Oct. 9, 2018)—Sculpture Milwaukee has teamed up with the Coalition of Photographic Arts (CoPA) for a unique partnership. A new initiative in this year’s exhibition, the Sculpture Milwaukee + CoPA photography competition called for photographs of artworks from the Sculpture Milwaukee 2018 installation. CoPA members were encouraged to tap into their emotions, think outside the box and reflect on their unique impressions of the sculptures with their submissions.

Over 150 photo entries were submitted and reviewed by the CoPA Board of Directors, who selected a first round of 50 finalists. In a blind judging, jurors from CoPA, Sculpture Milwaukee, The Marcus Corporation and Graydient Creative narrowed the 50 entries down to 21 finalists. The 21 photographs selected will be open for public voting on October 10 via the Sculpture Milwaukee + CoPA photo competition voting platform.

Following the completion of public voting, the photograph with the most votes will be awarded the Viewer’s Choice Award. In addition to the Viewer’s Choice Award, curated committees will also select winners of the Marcus Award for Photographic Excellence and the Curator’s Award presented by KEI. The winning photographers will be awarded generous prize packages and the three winning photographs will be featured on the Sculpture Milwaukee and CoPA website homepages.

Award winners will be announced on Saturday, October 20 at 10:30 a.m. at The Pfister Hotel, 424 E. Wisconsin Avenue. For more information, follow CoPA and Sculpture Milwaukee on Facebook, or visit www.sculpturemilwaukee.com and www.copamilwaukee.com.

Prizes provided by The Marcus Corporation, Kujawa Enterprises Inc., StudioMKE, Creative Enterprises and Pier 106 Seafood Tavern.
