Results from Today’s Milwaukee County Board Meeting

A summary of items passed at the county board meeting.

  • 12-6 (No: Borkowski, Bowen, Haas, Harris, Schmitt, Taylor) related to the Department of Human Resources’ reclassification of existing positions, reallocations of non-represented positions, advancements within the pay range, and all revision to the Executive Compensation Positions (ECP).
  • 13-5 (No: Alexander, Borkowski, Sanfelippo, Schmitt, Taylor) to establish a partnership in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding between Milwaukee County and Emerald Cities Collaborative to help promote environmentally sound “Green” programming in the metropolitan area.
  • 17-1 (No: Sanfelippo) on an informational report of the 2012 Wellness Program.
  • 17-1 (No: Haas) to authorize an increase to the 2012 contract with Transit Express, Inc. to provide specialized elderly transportation services ($65,000 from $1,382,945 to $1,447,945).
  • 17-1 (No: Weishan) authorizing the Department of Health and Human Services to enter into a two-year contract with Sellers Dorsey and Associates, LLC, for the Behavioral Health Division Revenue Maximization Initiative.
  • 17-1 (No: Sanfelippo) to approve a resolution relating to a new policy with respect to actions by the Medical Examiner in cases involving death of a person in law enforcement custody.
  • 9-9 (No: Bowen, Broderick, Haas, Harris, Johnson, Mayo, Stamper, Weishan, Dimitrijevic) failed resolution to authorize Corporation Counsel to file an appeal in the Court of Appeals regarding Wisconsin Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals and the Association of Milwaukee County Attorneys v. Milwaukee County, Case No. 12-CV-1528 regarding a decision related to the elimination of reimbursement of Medicare Part B premiums.
  • 10-8 ( No: Bowen, Haas, Harris, Jursik, Lipscomb, Mayo, Stamper, Weishan) on motion to reconsider vote of above.
  • 9-9 (No: Bowen, Broderick, Haas, Harris, Johnson, Mayo, Stamper, Weishan, Dimitrijevic) again failed resolution to authorize Corporation Counsel to file an appeal in the Court of Appeals regarding Wisconsin Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals and the Association of Milwaukee County Attorneys v. Milwaukee County, Case No. 12-CV-1528 regarding a decision related to the elimination of reimbursement of Medicare Part B premiums.
  • Sanfelippo served notice to reconsider the above item on the November 5, 2012 meeting of the Board.
  • 17-1 (No: Weishan) to approve the appointment of Patricia Yunk to the position of Assistant Director of Intergovernmental Relations.
  • 17-1 (No: Sanfelippo) to approve a resolution amending Chapter 1 of the Milwaukee County Code of General Ordinances, affirming the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors as the principal policymaking body for Milwaukee County government.

The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 5, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. in Room 200 of the Milwaukee County Courthouse, when the County Board is expected to adopt the 2013 Budget.
