Republican Challenger Robert Meyer Forced Scott Walker into a Primary with $10 in Outside Campaign Contributions
"My supporters worked extremely hard to get me on the ballot."
SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (July 29, 2018) – The Robert Meyer for Governor Campaign announced today that the candidate got on the gubernatorial Republican primary ballot June 1 with a total of just $10 in outside campaign contributions.
“We didn’t just limit each outside contribution to $10”, said Meyer, “nor was $10 the mean average contribution. We simply stopped accepting contributions after we totaled $10. I wanted to demonstrate what extreme fiscal conservatism looks like, and that regular people can still run for office in this state without having to meet party boss approval, or satisfy the news community’s pre-Internet fundraising rubric.”
Meyer went on to describe his campaign supporters’ disappointment when his name didn’t appear in a single Wisconsin newspaper article listing all of the candidates. “I felt particularly dismayed by Todd Richmond’s Associated Press article that ran in the Wisconsin State Journal on June 2nd. He described me as ‘token opposition to Scott Walker’, and then listed every other candidate by name. I can’t image that the Walker machine told him to not include my name. I also can’t imagine any self-respecting actual journalist obeying such a directive regardless of where it came from”.
“Our lack of a press reflects Wisconsin’s state of political backwardness which has provided fertile ground for eight years of Public Choice Theory Economics”, said Meyer. “My supporters worked extremely hard to get me on the ballot. I believe the Associated Press and Wisconsin State Journal owe them and the electorate a public apology”.

Republican Challenger Robert Meyer Challenges “Pro-Education” Governor Scott Walker to a Debate
Jul 10th, 2018 by Robert Meyer"As an education publisher, I believe a public debate will help inform the Wisconsin electorate about key education issues that frankly we just don’t hear enough about from our education leadership."
I agree, Robert’s people went out and canvassed people at farmer’s markets, music venues, fairs and street corners. These are people who want an alternative to Scott Walker. People who are tired of the Oligarchs controling one of our parties.
