MADISON – State Representative Evan Goyke (D-Milwaukee) issued the following statement congratulating Milwaukee’s Washington Heights Neighborhood on being named one of the “Great Places in Wisconsin” for 2014 by the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Planning Association:

“I congratulate the Washington Heights Neighborhood on this wonderful honor.  The Washington Heights Neighborhood is defined by its beautiful homes and dedicated neighbors who care deeply about their neighborhood and community.  These neighbors actively seek to ensure that ‘The Heights’ is a safe, strong, and welcoming neighborhood.  This neighborhood exemplifies Milwaukee’s small town-big city atmosphere.”

“This recognition is well deserved and I know that the Washington Heights Neighborhood will continue to serve as an example to others of what a community devoted to its neighborhood can offer to the State of Wisconsin. I am fortunate and very proud to represent the Washington Heights Neighborhood and the 18th Assembly District.”
