Port Milwaukee Earns 15th Pacesetter Award for Increased International Cargo in 2022

MILWAUKEE – Port Milwaukee has earned the Robert J. Lewis Pacesetter Award from the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation, an operating administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The Pacesetter Award recognizes ports in the Great Lakes and along the St. Lawrence Seaway that realize an annual increase in international cargo. This is Port Milwaukee’s 15^th Pacesetter Award.

Port Milwaukee witnessed 2022 international tonnage levels grow by 28% over 2021, as negative pandemic-related economic impacts eased. The Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway continues to be a vital supply chain for regional manufacturers, growers and producers to access global markets.
