Police-involved shooting under review
Statement of Common Council President José G. Pérez July 17, 2024
All my prayers and thoughts are with those affected by the tragic events near King Park yesterday. The loss of life is tragic, and the City of Milwaukee must always be committed to preventing this type of incident to the highest degree possible.
Upon learning of this incident, I immediately contacted the Milwaukee Police Department and the Fire and Police Commission seeking the most recent updates. I will be following the investigation of this incident very closely and add my voice to the many calling for a thorough and transparent process.
