Pitch Competition Providing Entrepreneurs with an Opportunity to Help their Technology Startups Thrive

MILWAUKEE, WI (November 15, 2019) – Milwaukee continues to grow in the area of technology. Many local companies are taking the initiative to increase diversity in Milwaukee’s tech ecosystem by supporting startups through mentorship and funding.

Jet Constellations, a fast-growing software company spearheading the mission to drive diversity in Milwaukee’s tech ecosystem, in partnership with the American Family Insurance Institute for Corporate and Social Impact, will host The Milky Way Tech For Good Pitch Out on Saturday, November 16. The pitch out will take place at 88 Nine Studios, 220 East Pittsburgh Avenue in Milwaukee from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

“The technology ecosystem in Milwaukee is thriving but there is a critical need for more diverse talent,” says Jet Constellations founder, Nadiyah Johnson. “An increase in diversity is necessary to achieve more equity in the tech industry. This is why the Milky Way Tech for Good Pitch Out is crucial to the city. We want to recognize the amazing technology startups in Milwaukee that have and are prepared to invest in our economy and our city.”

Entrepreneurs leading early-stage technology startups from a variety of industries were chosen from several applications as finalists for The Milky Way Tech For Good Pitch Out. The pitch competition emboldens entrepreneurs and business owners whose startups are making positive changes in Milwaukee to showcase their talents. The goal is to support, encourage and provide new and equitable funding to Milwaukee technology entrepreneurs. Selected finalists will compete on stage during the pitch competition for funding and free consulting services.
