The Green Bay Packers and UW Health today announced an extensive multi-year agreement for the health system to serve as the Official Health Care Partner of the Green Bay Packers.

The announcement was made by several representatives from the Packers and UW Health at American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, with Packers players Lukas Van Ness and Luke Musgrave in attendance to visit with patients at the hospital following the announcement.

“We’re proud to partner with an innovative health system like UW Health,” said Ed Policy, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Green Bay Packers. “The Packers, much like UW Health, have a story that starts over a century ago. These two pillars of Wisconsin industry coming together to broaden the reach of health and wellness to football fans around the globe is a fitting partnership.”

The Madison-based health system, which serves communities throughout the state of Wisconsin and beyond, will have a highly visible presence at Lambeau Field and will collaborate with the team on a variety of joint community initiatives and fan-focused events throughout the year.

Lambeau Field’s UW Health Gate will be unveiled on the north side of the stadium in May, and fans will also see a UW Health logo patch on the Packers’ practice jerseys. The two organizations will collaborate on the highly successful Packers Vs. Cancer program to raise cancer awareness, education and survivor recognition. The initiative educates fans on the importance of early detection and screenings and raises funds to support cancer research, such as the research conducted at the UW Health | Carbone Cancer Center.

“The Green Bay Packers are a remarkable organization,” said Dr. Alan Kaplan, Chief Executive Officer, UW Health. “They are one of the most successful sports teams in American history and are deeply dedicated to their millions of fans across Wisconsin and beyond. UW Health shares that strong commitment to be the best for our patients and the communities we serve.”

UW Health will also be the presenting sponsor of Packers Training Camp and Packers Family Night, longstanding team traditions that are rooted in community and fan-focused entertainment.

Additionally, UW Health will present several Packers initiatives and community-driven efforts dedicated to supporting kids and families year-round, including Packers Football Outreach programs and the Packers’ annual Project Play 60 event. The Packers and UW Health will also continue to collaborate on youth sports programming, hospital engagement, health and wellness awareness and charitable giving to benefit American Family Children’s Hospital, all focused on creating a lasting impact in communities throughout Wisconsin.

“The Green Bay Packers are Wisconsin’s team,” Kaplan said. “As Wisconsin’s health system, we’re thrilled to work together to bring important messages and great events to support the health of the communities we serve.”
