OutWiGo Snow Event Being Held Saturday, Jan. 11 at Lapham Peak
Activities Include Hiking, Cross-country Skiing, Snowshoeing, Fat-tire Biking, Sledding and More
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin residents and visitors are invited to kick off the new year in a variety of outdoor recreation activities at “OutWiGo Snow” on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Kettle Moraine State Forest – Lapham Peak Unit.
OutWiGo is a Wisconsin State Park System health and wellness initiative focused on promoting the mind, body, and community benefits of outdoor recreation.
OutWiGo Snow will offer activities including group hikes, cross-country ski lessons for adults and programming for kids, snowshoeing basics, fat-tire biking demos, sledding, naturalist activities and more. Outdoor demos will be happening throughout the day with focuses on a variety of winter recreation skills and tips. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing rental equipment will be available at cost. While some complimentary sleds will be provided, participants are encouraged to bring their own sleds as well.
A $5 event admission fee applies to participants ages 18 years and older, cash only. Participants of all ages are welcome. A 2020 Wisconsin State Park System vehicle admission sticker is required for entry. While attendees may purchase their admission stickers at the property entrance, purchasing them in advance will make the admission and parking process more efficient for themselves and others. Attendees are invited to attend the event anytime between Noon to 4 p.m., as activities and trails will be open all day. A second OutWiGo Snow event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020 at Willow River State Park.
