Operating Engineers Local 139 Endorses David Crowley for Governor
Continues momentum following endorsements from Gov. Evers, Laborers, Fire Fighters, IBEW, & mayors
MILWAUKEE – Operating Engineers Local 139 today endorsed Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley for Governor of Wisconsin. Local 139 represents nearly 12,000 members across Wisconsin.
“David Crowley comes from a union family and solidarity is in his blood,” said Terry McGowan, President and Business Manager of Operating Engineers Local 139. “David doesn’t just talk about supporting working people, he delivers. When we needed funding for projects that create good union jobs, he got it done. When we needed a partner to expand apprenticeship programs and build pathways into the trades, he showed up. Any time the Operating Engineers needed him, David was there for working families. That’s why Local 139 is proud to endorse David Crowley for Governor.”
The Operating Engineers endorsement adds to the growing momentum behind Crowley’s campaign following endorsements from Gov. Tony Evers, The Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council, the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin, IBEW Wisconsin State Conference, and mayors and leaders from across the state.
“I grew up in a union household. My father was a master electrician, and I saw firsthand how a union job means enough money to support a family and have a safe workplace,” said David Crowley. “Operating Engineers Local 139 has built Wisconsin from the ground up, and as Governor, I will make sure the people who work hard in this state can earn a good living doing it. That means restoring prevailing wages, bringing back project labor agreements, repealing right to work for less, and expanding apprenticeships for Wisconsin’s current and future workforce.”
