Nadiyah will oversee all policy & advocacy at Kids Forward, working to ensure that public policy in Wisconsin lifts up children and families of color and those furthest from opportunity.

“Today’s Kids Forward is an organization that centers the experiences of—and advocates for—children and families of color and those furthest from opportunity. Nadiyah has a wealth of experience working alongside, organizing with, and advocating for impacted communities. There is no one better to lead policy advocacy at Kids Forward,” stated Michele Mackey, CEO.

Over the last two years, Nadiyah served in the appointed roles of Statewide Political Director and Director of the Milwaukee Office for Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers. Nadiyah also served as director for several statewide and national political campaigns, which earned her the 2020 Milwaukee Business Journal 40 under 40 distinction.

“When community is centered in the process, public policy can have a life changing impact.  With my experience in both community engagement and politics, I see the importance of centering relationship building to help make policy and bureaucracy accessible and digestible to everyday people,” shared Nadiyah.

Prior to her political campaign experience, Nadiyah worked as a program officer for the non-profit LISC Milwaukee. At LISC Milwaukee, she administered technical assistance and capacity building for programs that impact poor and working class families and coordinated community and corporate engagement for neighborhood revitalization projects.

Nadiyah is a proud Milwaukee native and resident. She can be reached at ngroves@kidsforward.org.

Kids Forward inspires action and promotes access to opportunity for every kid, every family, and every community in Wisconsin, notably children and families of color and those furthest from opportunity. We envision a Wisconsin where every child thrives. Using a research- and community-informed approach, we advocate for effective, long-lasting solutions that break down barriers to success for children and families.
