(October 14, 2021) – Neu-Life Community Development will host a new installation exhibit “Metamorphosis: An Immersive Art Experience” on Friday, October 15 at The Shoppe (155 N. Milwaukee St.) from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. The show is the first time Neu-Life’s annual Student Art Show will exhibit downtown as part of Milwaukee’s Gallery Night, and will celebrate Neu-Life’s 20 years of work in the community. The event is open to all, and will feature free appetizers from Neu-Life’s Farmfork Youth Culinary Arts program students.

Neu-Life is a near-North Side nonprofit providing year-round educational and recreational programs for youth, from early childhood to young adults. The annual Art Show presents a unique opportunity for youth participating in Neu-Life’s programs to unite and work together towards a common creative goal.

Previously, the show has highlighted individual works of student art. This year’s exhibit will be experiential and immersive exhibit, and highlight core themes to Neu-Life’s work over the past 20 years: Youth, Growth, History, Education, and The Future. Youth designed and implemented experiences that reflect these themes, including features like light pillars and interactive green screens.

Neu-Life works with Imagine MKE through its Neighborhood Partnerships initiative, which focuses on working alongside neighborhood partners to drive forward events and programs that enable arts, culture, and creativity to contribute to building stronger and safer communities.
