Milwaukee PBS Wins Chicago/Midwest Emmy

elante Recognized for Outstanding Achievement for Public Affairs

MILWAUKEE; December 6, 2022 – The Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced on Saturday at the annual ceremony that Milwaukee PBS was recognized for Outstanding Achievement for Public Affairs Single Program/Series/Short Form Content – Adelante – A Day Without Latinos, Patricia Gomez, Producer, Yvonne Sanchez, Associate Producer. This story highlighted the Voces de la Frontera-led rally in Milwaukee for immigration reform.

Former Milwaukee PBS Instructor/Producer/Director Glenn Riley was inducted into the Silver Circle honoring outstanding individuals who have devoted 25 years or more to the television industry. Riley began his television career as part of the Milwaukee PBS production crew, was later studio supervisor and then taught a new generation of broadcasters as an instructor for MATC.

“Milwaukee PBS is honored to be recognized for our excellent work in the television industry,” said Interim VP & General Manager Damir Braovac. “We are proud of this Emmy award and of the six other nominations that were recognized by the Emmy judging committee.”

Milwaukee PBS’ six other nominations for its productions included segments that appeared on Black Nouveau and 10thirtysix™. The other nominations were for three specials, two with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and Speaking Of…Teachers in Crisis. Plus the documentary America’s Dairyland: At the Crossroads.
