Milwaukee Neighborhood Bus Tour Hosted by Adam Carr

See the City You Know Anew

By - Jul 28th, 2014 05:30 pm

While Milwaukee is often called a “City of Neighborhoods,” learning about neighborhoods outside of your own can be a challenge — but there are surprising and delightful things happening that you may not know about. Join neighborhood enthusiast Adam Carr for a bus tour featuring public artwork facilitated by Artists Working in Education and get a chance to peek inside one of their Truck Studio vans. The tour will be a feast of culture, history, minutia, and exploration in Washington Park, Silver City, and Clarke Square neighborhoods and the spaces between them.

Adam exclaims about the tour, “For the past six years, I’ve been extremely fortunate to make a living exploring/listening/documenting neighborhoods all over the city, and then the most important part — sharing. Really, I don’t like keeping the things that make me happiest to myself. This sharing has taken many different forms, and coming up soon, I get to do one of my favorites — a bus tour!”

This is a 3-hour bus tour will take place Saturday, August 2nd from 1-4pm and food will be provided throughout the tour. The tour will depart and return to the A.W.E. offices located at 4315 W. Vliet Street. VIP tickets are available and include A.W.E. schwag and complimentary beverages. Wine and Beer will be available. Beer will be provided by Brenner Brewing Company.

Proceeds from the event benefit Artists Working in Education and their arts outreach programs at Milwaukee area parks, playgrounds, libraries, and schools. Your support enables A.W.E. to provide arts education to over 5,500 area children each year.

This tour is made possible by LISC Milwaukee, the Asian International Market, Quorum Architects, Harley Davidson, and Melissa Musante the Creative Realtor. Special thanks to Mel Zilliox for her commitment to the Washington Park neighborhood.
