Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett Endorses Rebecca Dallet for Wisconsin Supreme Court

MILWAUKEE — Today, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett endorsed Rebecca Dallet for Wisconsin Supreme Court.

“I endorse Judge Rebecca Dallet for Wisconsin Supreme Court,” said Mayor Barrett. “Judge Dallet has proven that when she takes her seat in her courtroom, she’s standing up for all of us. She’s a fighter for our Wisconsin values and she’s worked tirelessly to keep our families safe. I know this because I’ve seen her work, in the trenches, during her 23 year career in Wisconsin courtrooms.

“Judge Dallet began her career as a prosecutor, specializing in prosecuting the worst of the worst sex offenders. She’s fought to restore the integrity of the courts and won’t be bought by special interests that have gained undue influence during the Walker era. She will fight to keep our families safe every day, and so everyone, not just the few who can afford it, have a fair shake before the law.”

Judge Rebecca Dallet thanked Mayor Barrett, “Mayor Barrett’s endorsement means a great deal to me; I am grateful for his support. His continued leadership fighting to get illegal guns off our streets will make our Milwaukee community and all Wisconsin communities safer. As Wisconsin’s next Supreme Court Justice, I will take on the undue influence that special interests have on our highest court.”

Elected in 2008 and re-elected in 2014, Judge Rebecca Dallet currently serves on the Milwaukee County Circuit Court. She has spent the past 23 years working in Wisconsin courtrooms – first as a prosecutor and now as judge presiding over more than 10,000 cases and more than 230 jury trials in a wide range of areas from domestic violence and misdemeanor court, to homicide and drug court, and civil and small claims court. Judge Dallet is running to protect our Wisconsin values during a time when our most basic rights are under attack. She lives in Whitefish Bay with her husband, Brad, and their three teenage daughters.
