Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley Statement on Maxwell Anderson Sentencing
MILWAUKEE – County Executive David Crowley released the following statement in response to the sentencing of Maxwell Anderson to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the first-degree intentional homicide of Sade Robinson:
“Today’s sentence of life imprisonment without parole is a step toward justice for Sade Robinson. While no verdict can bring her back or ease the unimaginable grief carried by her family and loved ones, today we can take some solace in knowing accountability has been delivered because our community refused to let her story be forgotten. And we can begin the long journey toward healing.
Sade’s death has shaken our community to its core. It’s a painful reminder of a world that too often fails to protect women, especially Black women who continue to face disproportionate violence and vulnerability. But we know that true justice is more than just a verdict. It is support. It is prevention. It is investing in domestic violence prevention, strengthening community support, and addressing the systems and cultures that allow violence to persist. We all must commit to protecting one another. Stand up. Speak out. Call out abuse. Because silence doesn’t keep us safe, but your voice just might save a life.
Today, my heart is with Sade’s family and all those who knew and loved her. Let us continue to wrap her family in love and support, and let us work to create a world where no one has to mourn another young life stolen too soon.”
