Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley Named Public Official of the Year by Governing Magazine

Governing’s recognition is awarded to local officials who are delivering positive results for the people they serve

MILWAUKEE – County Executive David Crowley has been recognized by Governing as a 2024 Public Official of the Year.

For 30 years, Governing has recognized state and local officials around the country who are making a difference and delivering positive results for the people and communities they serve. County Executive Crowley is being recognized by Governing for his successful work to improve Milwaukee County’s financial outlook, as well as his efforts to build more affordable housing, combat the mental health and substance use disorder crisis, and bolster public transit services.

“I am honored to be named one of Governing’s Public Officials of the Year for 2024. This recognition reflects the hard work of my administration and our dedication to moving Milwaukee County forward,” said County Executive Crowley. “From securing new revenues to investing in mental health services and affordable housing, we are building on our progress and creating a more prosperous, healthier, and equitable future for all residents. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving this community and delivering real change in Milwaukee County and the State of Wisconsin.”

Crowley’s recognition as a Governing Public Official of the Year reflects his steadfast commitment to advancing equity and creating long-term solutions to complex issues facing Milwaukee County and the State of Wisconsin. County Executive Crowley regularly works with partners like the National Association of Counties (NACo) and Wisconsin Counties Association (WCA) to advance his administration’s priorities at the state and federal levels.
