Milwaukee-Based Charles Walker Band Performs at River Rhythms
Originally formed as a blues band 15 years ago, the Charles Walker Band has refined their sound into Neo-Funk.
MILWAUKEE – River Rhythms, downtown Milwaukee’s destination for music on Wednesday evenings, welcomes the Charles Walker Band to the stage on Wednesday, July 11th. The free concert series takes place from 6:30 – 9 p.m. every Wednesday through August 29th in Pere Marquette Park on Old World Third Street between State and Kilbourn.
Originally formed as a blues band 15 years ago, the Charles Walker Band has refined their sound into Neo-Funk, a style of music that features funk infused rhythms with pop melodies. This three-piece band has been featured on NBC live in the Morning, the Morning Blend and Discover Wisconsin, and has also opened for national acts like Earth Wind & Fire, B.B. King and Aaron Neville.
Miller products, Malibu & Absolut cocktails, wine and soda will be available at the Westown beverage tent with all proceeds going to benefit the free event. Patrons can also enjoy food options from local food trucks and restaurants.
New this year: concert attendees will now have more parking options available to them. Parking will be provided by Interstate Parking at 751 North Plankinton Avenue and 601 West State Street for $3.00 with code 0004.
Next week, River Rhythms welcomes Light Up (A Tribute to Styx) to the stage! Find the rest of the 2018 River Rhythms line-up at: https://www.westown.org/neighborhood-events/river-rhythms-2/
