Mike Roberts: Robyn Vining Puts Partisan Politics Over District 5 Families
Pewaukee, Wis. – Mike Roberts, Republican candidate for Wisconsin’s 5th Senate District, criticizes Representative Robyn Vining for her refusal to support the bipartisan agreement during the May 2026 Special Session.
“Even when her own party’s governor reached across the aisle to strike a deal, Robyn Vining couldn’t bring herself to do the same, because her allies didn’t think it was enough of a ‘win’ for their political games,” stated Roberts. “People are sick and tired of Vining playing Madison politics and participating in hyper-partisan gamesmanship.”
“People in this district are ready to put results over politics, and now over $2.5 billion is being held hostage by politicians, like Robyn Vining, who are more worried about their next ‘win’ than working for the people of Wisconsin,” he added. “When I’m state senator, I will treat government spending like it’s your money – because it is – and will work to address the root causes of failing systems just like I’ve treated the root causes of my patients in the healthcare practice I started.”
While elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly, Robyn Vining has repeatedly voted against property and income tax relief. This session she voted to uphold Governor Evers’ 400-year veto which has raised, and will continue to raise, property taxes on people in the 5th Senate District.
Roberts is running for the Wisconsin State Senate against Vining. As senator for Wisconsin’s 5th district, Mike will fight to lower the cost of living, increase public safety, demand improved outcomes from education systems and improve access to quality, affordable healthcare.
