Despite this violence that has caused great fear, our community remains strong and undivided for peace.

On behalf of the youth of the city of Milwaukee, we offer our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the shooting in Oak Creek yesterday. We as a city must stand in support of the Sikh community of Oak Creek and help them get back on their feet.

Despite this violence that has caused great fear, our community remains strong and undivided for peace.

In the next few weeks, the Youth Council will seek ways to bridge the divide between religions and cultures in our city. If individuals or organizations have ideas on ways to promote interfaith dialogue, please contact us at mkeyouthcouncil@gmail.com. We hope that by working to increase tolerance through education, we can prevent these senseless tragedies from happening again.
