Mayoral appointments to the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners to be heard at committee meeting on Thursday

At the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Common Council’s Public Safety and Health Committee at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, the committee will take up files related to the nominations of Edward Fallone, Joan Kessler, and LaNelle Ramey to serve on the Board of Fire & Police Commissioners. The mayoral appointments will be items two, three and four on the agenda.

Committee chair Alderwoman Marina Dimitrijevic invites residents to provide comment using the city’s e-comment feature available online. “FPC Commissioners are vital positions within our local government, and we want to make sure we receive as much public input on these nominees as possible. For those unable to attend the meeting but still wanting to provide input, I’d encourage them to comment online via the e-comment feature available,” she said.

Those wishing to provide comments can utilize the City’s e-comment feature by following these steps:

  1. Visitmilwaukee.legistar.com/Calendar.
  2. Select the “e-comment” button across from the meeting during which the file will be heard. Meeting info is listed above.
  3. Scroll down to the item number that corresponds to the desired file and click the “comment” button.
  4. Fill in the necessary information, select a position and type a comment in the comment box. Note that comments are limited to 1,200 characters.
  5. Hit submit.

Residents can also participate in the upcoming community meeting being hosted by the Fire and Police Commission on Saturday, June 26 from 10 – 11:30 a.m. During the meeting, the mayoral appointees will discuss their backgrounds and answer questions from the community, which can be submitted during the registration process. To attend and participate in the meeting, please register at: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/4768780257512624908.
