Marcus Center Continues Outreach Program With Milwaukee Public Schools
Master Class with the cast of WICKED
MILWAUKEE, WI (Wednesday, November 11, 2015) -The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts and Milwaukee Public Schools continue to team up for a new outreach program called Arts Connect. The Center is thrilled to continue to offer this program exclusively for MPS’ Riverside University High School students, which began during the run of Motown the Musical. This opportunity is free of cost to twenty students from Riverside University High School who have a strong interest in the performing arts. This program is designed to allow these students to experience the various aspects of the performing arts including exploration of various college and career possibilities.
These special opportunities with Broadway shows is made possible due to the partnership of Associated Bank and their support as the premier partner of the Marcus Center. Without their contributions as our Broadway series sponsor to bring these shows to Milwaukee, the outreach programs during this diverse season wouldn’t have been possible.
A dance master class with a cast member from WICKED is being held on Friday, November 13 at 10:00 am at MPS’ Riverside University High School. This interactive class will teach students dance segments to use in their theater program and beyond. In addition, the master class will build on the skills learned during the summer intensive with Motown the Musical.
The Arts Connect outreach program will continue with MPS’ Riverside University High School throughout the year with the Marcus Center’s upcoming Associated Bank Broadway at the Marcus Center series and Off Broadway 2015/2016 season.
