Majority Leader Fitzgerald Statement on Evers’ Veto of Born Alive Bill
"It’s appalling that the governor has decided to veto these common-sense reforms."
[Madison, WI] — Following Governor Evers’ veto of four pieces of pro-life legislation late on Friday, Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald released the following statement:
“It’s appalling that the governor has decided to veto these common-sense reforms. These are bills that protect babies born alive after a failed abortion and outlaw abortions based on race, gender, or a disability. Wisconsin Republicans will continue the fight to protect the lives of the unborn, even if Governor Evers will not.”
Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) represents the 13th Senate District, which covers portions of Dodge, Jefferson, Waukesha, Washington, Dane, and Columbia counties.
