MacDowell Club of Milwaukee presents Scholarship Winners
Eleven students from the Milwaukee area auditioned for awards on Saturday, March 18.
Milwaukee, WI – The MacDowell Club of Milwaukee is proud to announce the 2015 Scholarship Winners. Eleven students from the Milwaukee area auditioned for awards on Saturday, March 18. Impressive musicianship was shown by all participants. The 1st place $1000 scholarship was awarded to Nathan Bredeson, a student of Rene Izquierdo at UWM. He is working on his Masters of Music in Classical Guitar. 2nd place was awarded $750 to Pin-hui Tasi, Cello. He began his Bachelor of Music degree this year at UWM and studies with Stefan Kartman. The 3rd place winner of $500 is Samuel Hines another UWM Masters of Music student studying with Rene Izquierdo on Classical Guitar. Honorable Mention $125 winners are Emily Tyle, a graduate and violin student of Elizabeth Zempel at Baptist College of Ministry. And respectively, Jedidiah Wardecke, a student of Eun-Joo Kwak, has received his Bachelor and Masters degree at Cardinal Stritch University in Piano.

Our mission is to further musical interests in Milwaukee, provide performing opportunities for professional and amateur musicians, and acquaint the general public with the number and excellence of local artists. Money is raised through concert donations to fund our biennial scholarship and young composer competitions for local students.
