Locally-produced Programs recognized for excellence

MILWAUKEE; May 19, 2023 –At the Milwaukee Press Club’s Awards gala recognizing “Excellence in Journalism” this past weekend Milwaukee PBS won two Gold, two Silver and two Bronze awards.

Gold Winners
Best Long Soft Feature Story – Layups and Literacy, 10thirtysix™
*Layups and Literacy also won second place in the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Awards for Best Sports Reporting
Best Documentary – People of the Port: The Story of Milwaukee’s Jones Island, John Gurda & Claudia Looze
 

Silver Winners
Best Regularly Scheduled News or Sports Program – 10thirtysix™
Best One Time Special – Gabriela Marvan: Folk Art Collective brings Mexican Art to the Heart of Wisconsin – Adelante

Bronze Winner

On Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. on Milwaukee PBS 10.1, Milwaukee PBS airs a rotation of its local programs, including 10thirtysix, Adelante, Black Nouveau and The Arts Page. These programs strive to be responsive to the needs and interests of its communities and viewers, and to be a voice and a platform for southeastern Wisconsin.
