Lobbyist Brittany Kinser Says She’d “Love” to Meet and Campaign with Trump’s Education Hitwoman, Linda McMahon
MADISON – In a Friday radio interview with right-wing Wausau talk show host Meg Ellefson, lobbyist Brittany Kinser said she would “love” to meet and campaign with Trump’s Education Secretary, Linda McMahon, the architect of the plan to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education and potentially slash over $1 billion in federal funding from Wisconsin’s public schools.
Ellefson teed up the moment, “Paging Linda McMahon. Maybe she can come to Wisconsin and the two of you can meet in advance.”
“I would love that.”
Ellefson added that it could be part of a campaign event, to which Kinser laughingly replied, “You never know.”
Jorna Taylor, campaign manager for Underly for Wisconsin, issued the following statement:
“Lobbyist Brittany Kinser just said she’d love to campaign with the person responsible for gutting public education and cutting up to $1 billion from Wisconsin schools. That’s not a slip-up– that’s who she is. Her donors are cheering these cuts, and now she’s saying she wants Linda McMahon by her side on the campaign trail. Wisconsin families should be alarmed.”
McMahon’s “last mission” for the U.S. Department of Education will directly impact:
- Special Education (IDEA)
- Title I programs for low-income students
- School nutrition programs
- Mental health and student support services
- Career and Technical education
Instead of standing up for Wisconsin schools, lobbyist Brittany Kinser has refused to criticize the plan to dismantle the Department of Education, saying it’s “fine” as long as Wisconsin still gets the money — ignoring the fact that federal funds have already been cut, and more are on the chopping block.
This fits a long pattern:
- She supported weakening or eliminating teacher licensing requirements
- She lobbied to send public money to private schools
- And now she says she wants to share the stage with the person leading the charge to slash funding for our schools
