LISC Milwaukee and Safe & Sound to Host the 71st Crime Prevention Awards on February 5, 2020

 

January 7, 2020 – Milwaukee, WI The 71st Annual Crime Prevention Awards will be on Wednesday, February 5th at the Wisconsin Club to recognize private residents and law enforcement professionals who, through their special contributions to crime prevention, have made the greater Milwaukee area a better place to live and work. The event is organized by LISC Milwaukee and Safe & Sound, two nonprofit organizations dedicated to safe and thriving neighborhoods in the Milwaukee area, in partnership with law enforcement agencies. The event is generously sponsored by AAA Wisconsin, Presenting Sponsor and the Salvation Army of Milwaukee County, Community Action Sponsor. Recognized for their exemplary crime prevention efforts in the community the following organizations and individuals:

LISC’s (Local Initiative Support Corporation) is both place-based and comprehensive. Where some see risk, we see opportunity. SAFE & SOUND

Safe & Sound is a Milwaukee non-profit that works to bridge the gap between law enforcement and residents to foster a sense of ownership that results in safer neighborhoods. In partnership with law enforcement, Safe & Sound neighborhood teams implement strategic neighborhood engagement and programming that brings neighbors together to create a sense of collective efficacy and improve public safety. Over the past 22 years, Safe & Sound has developed a nationally recognized, effective model that is successful in improving public safety in targeted Milwaukee neighborhoods.
