MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) invites the public to join DNR staff members on Monday, Feb. 12, at the DNR Field Office in Peshtigo, Wisconsin, for the third meeting of a six-part series focused on fisheries management in northeast Wisconsin.

As part of a Spotlight Series that highlights various fisheries in Green Bay and inland waters in the northeast, this meeting will focus on northern pike and yellow perch management in Green Bay. Tammie Paoli, DNR Fisheries Biologist, will provide an overview of the unique life history and spawning migrations of northern pike in Green Bay and present results from a 2023 fyke netting survey targeting pike. This will include information on the size and age of pike, long-term trends in catch and harvest and the future of the pike fishery in Green Bay. Population status of yellow perch, trawling survey results and sport and commercial fishery harvest trends will also be covered.

This meeting will be held in person and via Zoom from 6 to 8 p.m.
