MILWAUKEE (May 22nd, 2024) – After the success of their diaper drives and last year’s period supply drive, Lakefront is excited to team up with Milwaukee Diaper Mission again. “It’s been a pleasure to work with Meagan and their team over the last couple years. They’re doing such important work; it’s easy for us to want to continue helping out”, says Liz Mauritz, Lakefront’s Ripple Effect donation program coordinator.

Milwaukee Diaper Mission is a basic needs bank. They partner with local social service agencies to provide a reliable source of essentials to those in need. Utilizing a distribution model that is efficient and cost-effective, they ensure that needs like period supplies get into the hands of the people who need them most. “We have tripled our distribution effort for period products over the past year to better meet the needs of the 1,200 menstruators we currently serve”, says Meagan Johnson, Founder of Milwaukee Diaper Mission. “Two in five menstruators have struggled to purchase period products due to lack of income, even missing out on work or school due to a lack of supplies. We don’t want anyone to have to make that choice.”

On Sunday, June 2nd from 11AM to 5PM, Lakefront will be offering $.25 (25 cents) of gift card credit for each individual unopened disposable tampon or pad brought in. Gift cards can be used that day or any day in the future with no limit to the amount you can donate. Milwaukee Diaper Mission notes that they are most in need of super tampons and super pads but they will accept all unopened period supplies brought in. Tampons and pads will be the only accepted items for Lakefront Brewery credit.
