Jonathan Lucroy Enters Into Personal Services Agreement With Milwaukee Brewers

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers today announced that former Brewers catcher and recent Wall of Honor inductee, Jonathan Lucroy, has entered into a Personal Services Agreement with the Club. The All-Star receiver will support a variety of business initiatives for the Brewers, plus serve in a part-time instructional role with the team’s Minor League players.

Lucroy will begin his role with the Brewers this month at Instructional League in Phoenix.

“We welcome Jonathan back to work with the team in a comprehensive role and are excited to have his experience in a mentoring position for our young players,” said Brewers President – Baseball Operations David Stearns. “We also look forward to connecting Jonathan with Brewers fans through a number of business opportunities and promotions.”

Lucroy, drafted by Milwaukee in 2007, spent seven seasons with the Brewers from 2010-16, earning All-Star selections in 2014 and 2016. He led the majors in doubles in 2014 with 53, tied for the most in a single season in franchise history. He hit 46 doubles as a catcher in 2014, the most by a catcher in a single season in MLB history. Lucroy finished fourth in National League Most Valuable Player voting in 2014, becoming the first catcher in franchise history to finish in the top 10. He ranks first in franchise history as a catcher in hits (752), batting average (.288), doubles (143), HR (77), RBI (358), and runs (326). He is second in games caught (725).

“It is a great honor to continue my engagement with the Brewers organization and to have the opportunity to support a wide range of the Club’s business and baseball initiatives,” said Lucroy. “I’m especially looking forward to building relationships with the organization’s Minor League talent and using my experiences in the game to help enhance their development into future stars of the Milwaukee Brewers franchise.”

Lucroy was inducted into the Wall of Honor last month, a distinction awarded to players, coaches and executives who meet a set of criteria based on service to the organization and career accomplishments. Lucroy joined the permanent exhibit with a bronze plaque affixed to the exterior of American Family Field commemorating his contributions. He also officially retired as a player in a ceremony at American Family Field on August 6.

Lucroy has started a consulting business, “5Tool Consulting,” which works on a variety of platforms in sports and general business. Earlier this year, 5Tool invested in the 3^rd Street Market Hall in downtown Milwaukee. More information on jonathanlucroy.com.
