Indaba African Ball Rescheduled for March 26

By - Jan 24th, 2022 08:44 am

Citing concerns for community health, St. Ann Center has rescheduled its Indaba African Ball fundraiser for March 26.

The third annual event was originally set for Saturday, February 5, in the atrium at the Bucyrus Campus of St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care, 2450 W. North Ave.  St. Ann Center, a nonprofit organization, raises funds at the Ball to support its free weekly summer entertainment series for the community on the grounds at the Indaba Band Shell.

Masks and proof of vaccines were required, but Special Events Director Gloria Miller said in light of CDC recommendations to keep communities safer during the local Omicron surge, St. Ann Center opted to postpone the celebration, which includes hors d’oeuvres, live music, a photo booth, honors for local history makers and more.

“With rising numbers across the board, we want to protect the health of our community,” she said. ”We appreciate their continued support so we can provide free entertainment for the neighborhood this summer, and look forward to seeing everyone at the Ball on Saturday, March 26. “

Tickets are $65 each and will continue to be sold through March 12 at StAnnCenter.org/Indaba Ball. Tickets already purchased will be honored on the rescheduled date. Those unable to attend on the later date may call Miller for a refund at (414) 210-2428.

St. Ann Center is grateful for support from All of Us Research Program; Grandma Book; Gershia Coggs & G. Spencer Coggs; Parklawn Assembly of God Church; 101.7 The Truth; and all the generous sponsors who support the Ball and its mission to provide free, family-friendly summer entertainment all summer for the community.
